A Legacy of Conservation
Established in 1936 as Hailey National Park, Corbett was renamed after the legendary hunter-turned-conservationist Jim Corbett. It was the first national park in mainland India and served as the launchpad for Project Tiger in 1973, making it one of the most critical tiger reserves in the country.

Best Time for Your Safari
While Corbett is open from mid-October to June, the best wildlife viewing months are from November to March when the weather is pleasant and animals frequent water sources. Summers (April-June) offer the highest chance of tiger sightings as animals come out in search of water.
